Last Friday, 8 November, Dr. Hubert Faltermeier, District Administrator of the Kelheim district, visited the Gammel Group's office in Abensberg to find out more about our company's performance profile, development and innovations. Together with Dr. Faltermeier, Christine Götz, Climate Protection Manager, and Otto Pilz, Head of Economic Development, also came to our company.
Owner Michael Gammel presented the companies, our corporate philosophy and some selected projects together with the managing directors Max Oblinger, Klaus Röhrmoser and Thomas Winkler. The wide range of services offered by Gammel Engineering, ReGaWatt and Zukunfts Energie Partner in building technology and decentralized energy systems offers customers a full service from the initial idea through planning and construction management to support during system operation. The companies specialize in highly efficient technologies with various energy sources from wood chips (see project Sulzemoos wood chip plant from Zwehl) to biogas and natural gas (see projects Schwabmünchen Kraft-Wärme-Kälte-Kopplung Osram and Painten Mikrogasturbine Kalkwerk Rygol), geothermal energy through to industrial waste heat (see project Landshut BMW)
Dr. Faltermeier was particularly pleased with the successful cooperation between Gammel and other companies from the district, such as Glatt in Abensberg and Kosik in Kelheim, which supply system components for the Kombi-Power system developed by Gammel. This not only promotes the economy in the district, but also creates a better integrated solution for customers.
Of course, critical issues were also addressed during the visit: Christine Götz has made it her mission to encourage the population to use energy more efficiently. This is not always easy, as Michael Gammel described - the extremely high level of uncertainty caused by the public debate among political decision-makers on the energy policy framework has led to a backlog of investment. What many do not know: Investments in efficient energy use often pay for themselves after 3-4 years, in favorable cases even faster! With a system service life of 15-20 years, this gives companies a significant competitive advantage. Dr. Faltermeier hopes that the new government will quickly set things in motion in this area and remove the political ambiguities in the energy sector, which Gammel Engineering would not only very much welcome, but also actively support.

Rising energy and raw material prices can be counteracted by using sustainable energy technologies and thus reducing CO2 emissions. This not only significantly reduces cost explosions, but also reduces your own ecological footprint. Pioneers in the dairy industry are also focusing on this.
Some people are simply indispensable in a company - Thomas "Tom" Winkler is one of them. He started with us around 25 years ago as a young engineer and grew from project manager to project manager to authorized signatory. With a great deal of passion and dedication, he has become a permanent fixture in our management team. But above all, Tom is a real team player who always has an open ear, is always willing to help and makes everyday life easier with his good humor.
