How we handle your personal data is explained in this privacy policy. The applicable data protection law, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is the basis. Except for service providers and third parties named in this privacy policy, we do not share data with third parties.
General Information
Provision of Data
The use of our website does not generally require the provision of personal data by law or contract.
Data Transfer to Third Countries
It is possible that we use service providers and third-party vendors located in countries outside the European Union and the European Economic Area. The transfer of personal data to such third countries is based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR) or via standard contractual clauses with the respective provider. A level of data protection equivalent to that in the EU cannot be guaranteed, especially in the USA, due to the legal situation.
Legal Basis of Processing
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR: legitimate interest. An additional legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, if the processing is necessary for the fulfillment of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures.
For all other processing, we obtain the user's consent and the processing of data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.
Website Hosting
Every time our website is accessed, the user's browser transmits various data. For the duration of the website visit, the following data is processed and stored in log files beyond the end of the connection:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages and files accessed
- Date and time of access
- User’s provider
- IP address in anonymized form
- Referrer URL
The processing of this data is necessary to deliver the website to the user and to optimize it for their device. Storage in log files serves to improve the security of our website (e.g. protection against DDOS attacks).
IP addresses are anonymized before being stored in log files. Log files are automatically deleted after 30 days.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that contain certain information and are stored on the user’s device. Most often, these include an identification number assigned to a device (Cookie ID).
We use cookies that are not necessary for the operation of our website to make our offer more user-friendly or to analyze the use of our website. The legal basis here depends on whether the user's consent is required or whether we can rely on a legitimate interest. The user can withdraw any consent given at any time, including via their browser settings. We use Cookiebot by Usercentrics as our content management system.
The user can prevent and object to the processing of data by cookies via appropriate browser settings.

Contact
In the case of contact, we process the user's details, date, and time for the purpose of handling the inquiry, including any follow-up questions.
The data is deleted as soon as the inquiry, including any follow-up questions, has been answered. We regularly check, at least every two years, whether data arising from contact should be deleted.
Newsletter
Users have the option to register for newsletters on our site. We process the data entered during registration to send a confirmation email to the user’s email address. After confirmation, we process the data in order to send the newsletter. For personalization purposes, we may also process the user's name, if provided.
Upon registration, we store the date and time as well as the user’s IP address to verify the subscription. After unsubscription, we continue to process this data for verification purposes and delete it after three years at the end of the year.
User Account Registration
Users can register for our services via our website. In this context, we process the data entered during registration. The email address is confirmed via a link (double opt-in) to prevent misuse of the registration function. For this purpose, we also process the date, time, and IP address of the user. When the confirmation link is clicked, we additionally process the date, time, and IP address for verification purposes.
The data is deleted with the deletion of the user account after three years at the end of the year, unless a longer legal retention period applies.
Third-Party Services
YouTube
We embed videos from YouTube. Provider: Google Ireland Ltd., Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland. We use the extended data protection mode, so YouTube does not track user behavior unless the user watches the video. To provide videos, it is technically necessary to transmit the user's IP address to YouTube.
