Project manager Thomas Winkler from Gammel Engineering explained the project from a technical perspective. 2 gas engine CHP units, a large heat pump with renewable energy source Saalach as well as a power-to-heat plant and a large heat storage tank are the main components of the first expansion stage. In future, the clean and cost-effective heat will be transported to the customers via the heating network.Dr. Stefan Kellerbauer from the engineering company of the same name explained the use of the Saalach groundwater as a regenerative heat source with the heat pump. The water is cooled by 6 K via a heat exchanger and then fed back into the aquifer approx. 200 m downstream. Yesterday, we welcomed a special visitor to Gammel Engineering: the cyclists of the Glückstour 2026 made a stop at our premises. With great personal commitment, they are collecting donations for children with cancer and serious illnesses on their tour. This impressive initiative has been moving people and providing concrete help for many years.
Our employees voted together and decided to support the Hölzgen family with a donation from the Gammel Family Social Fund.
