With its project development and planning services, the "food team" at Gammel Engineering was able to implement long-term strategic concepts for energy cost stabilization and supply security together with producers from the dairy industry.
In cooperation with Vollack, Gammel Engineering was able to provide planning services under the project management of Vico Meusel.
In order to stabilize energy costs in the long term and secure supplies, producers from the dairy industry have developed and implemented individual energy and supply concepts together with our expertise.
Sustainability in energy supply is a step into the future. For example, 12 years ago, the Schneider brewery opted for a renewable raw material in the form of wood chips for its heat supply.
The Gammel engineering team supports the strategic corporate development of our clients with the planning of sustainable energy technology. Energy systems designed precisely to meet current and forecast energy requirements offer our clients immense competitive advantages. Our clients make secure investment decisions on the basis of reliable, coordinated energy business plans. Our clients' medium and long-term strategic corporate goals in their core business are at the heart of our work. We ensure sustainable, cost-effective, safe and clean energy and take current subsidy projects into account. Our aim is to achieve the greatest possible profitability for our clients in terms of investment and plant operation. Some specific project examples from the dairy industry are presented in the Aqua & Gas report.
The Technology Park in Ingolstadt was officially opened. Among other things, Audi's new vehicle safety center and the largest location of the software company CARIAD can be found in this prestigious project. Around 100 million euros were invested in the Audi vehicle safety center with a 250-meter run-up track, a mobile 100-ton crash block and the ability to collide two vehicles at a 90-degree angle. Of course, the well thought-out energy concept, which makes the site a model project in terms of sustainability, deserves special mention. The concentrated power and expertise of Gammel Engineering was brought to bear. For example, we planned the functional building, installed reversible heat pumps for heating and cooling, dynamically simulated the building in the LowEx network of the in-campus with TRNSYS and reduced the energy requirement and the technology to be used to a minimum.
The expansion of environmentally friendly district heating is the essential building block of the future heat supply for cities, municipalities and areas. The municipality of Gräfelfing is prepared for the current political demands and is already implementing them! As the Münchner Merkur reported on 07.09.2023, the first pipes for the municipality of Gräfelfing's comprehensive district heating network have long since been laid on the construction site. The team from Gammel Engineering GmbH, which specializes in highly efficient energy systems, was awarded the planning contract in the EU-wide tender competition together with our local cooperation partner IB Krombach (civil engineering). This allows us to contribute more than 35 years of district heating experience and a great deal of passion to this complex future energy project. We are already looking forward to the first district heating supply through the Gräfelfing municipal network.
These are the words used by Mr. Cetin Yasasin, Head of Heat Generation and Systems, to describe the Kelheim biomass cogeneration plant. It has now been operating successfully for 11 years and Gammel Engineering looks back with pride on this, one of our many successful projects not only in the district of Kelheim. The city council and the Kelheim public utility company had the foresight to decide that the concept was strategically correct and decided to build, plan and operate the energy system and to develop and expand the district heating system. Municipal heating planning in our district town began with foresight and a forward-looking approach long before the commitment that has now been agreed. A successful example of how heat and electricity can be produced sustainably from natural waste wood! Our team is pleased about the many years of advisory cooperation in the strategic development and planning of future energy in Kelheim.
In the 02/2023 issue, r.energy reports on the very positive operating experience of the brewery G. Schneider & Sohn GmbH, Kelheim, since the commissioning of the energy center and the biomass heating plant. There is a detailed report on the success factors of trust on the part of the Schneider brewery and the sound expertise of our engineers in individual, sustainable energy systems.
In the current issue, molkerei industrie reports on operator experience in energy-saving milk and cheese production. Our team successfully advised several milk-processing industrial companies on the transformation and provided engineering support during implementation. Milchwerke Berchtesgadener Land Chiemgau e.G. is highlighted as a lighthouse project. The company has been supplied by its own new energy center with a gas turbine since 2016. Another energy efficiency highlight is the Goldsteig cheese dairies in Cham. There, the Gammel Engineering team developed the energy partnership concept with Naturenergie Cham, planned the entire power plant technology and also participated in the investment.
The renowned trade magazine EURO HEAT & POWER reports on our innovative wood energy concept at the private wheat beer brewery G. Schneider & Sohn in Kelheim. It was a real pleasure for us to be able to contribute our many years of knowledge and commitment to the design and implementation of the project. To now see how much interest our energy ideas are attracting not only makes us proud, but also shows that our team is on the right track. As we have been doing for 35 years now - always one asparagus tip ahead!
