Mayor Dr. Herbert Lackner emphasized the importance of Stadtwerke for climate protection and the energy transition in his welcoming address. The Stadtwerke team is tried and tested in complex projects and will also master the upcoming client task with flying colors.
Municipal utilities board member Jörg Schmidt explained the sustainability strategy of the municipal utilities and gave an overview of the iKWK project - an exciting outlook on the upcoming activities of the municipal utilities in Bad Reichenhall for the participants!
Michael Gammel emphasized the importance of the innovation project for the energy and climate transition. CEO Jörg Schmidt and his Stadtwerke team are making an outstanding contribution and demonstrating foresight, courage and entrepreneurial spirit. The energy transition in Germany is now being neglected by politicians in many respects - there is no master plan at all. People want the energy transition - that's why it's happening "from the bottom up".
Project manager Thomas Winkler from Gammel Engineering explained the project from a technical perspective. 2 gas engine CHP units, a large heat pump with renewable energy source Saalach as well as a power-to-heat plant and a large heat storage tank are the main components of the first expansion stage. In future, the clean and cost-effective heat will be transported to the customers via the heating network.Dr. Stefan Kellerbauer from the engineering company of the same name explained the use of the Saalach groundwater as a regenerative heat source with the heat pump. The water is cooled by 6 K via a heat exchanger and then fed back into the aquifer approx. 200 m downstream. The boreholes already being drilled confirm the hydrogeological forecasts. We are delighted to be able to contribute to the engineering implementation of this lighthouse project after the project development - thank you very much for the order, and here's to continued successful and constructive collaboration!
