Description
As part of a comprehensive project development, Gammel Engineering precisely analyzed the current steam and power requirements of a dairy - taking into account planned plant expansions and future load profiles.
The aim was to set up heat and power generation in an energy-efficient and sustainable manner. A high-performance concept for self-supply was developed on the basis of detailed simulation calculations and profitability analyses.
🔧 Core components of the analysis:
- Steam generation concept:
- Design of a modern 4-pass steam boiler with an output of 12 t/h to supply the process steam requirements
- CHP variant comparison for in-house power generation:
- Gas turbine + steam boiler (with waste heat function)
- CHP + steam boiler combination
- Direct-fired steam boiler with downstream steam engine expansion machine
- Evaluation:
- Comparison of the variants in terms of efficiency, CO₂ savings, investment and operating costs and eligibility
📊 result & benefit:
- An ecologically and economically coordinated system design that serves as a basis for decision-making for realization
- Significant increase in energy efficiency and reduction of external electricity and fuel purchases
- Consideration of flexibility for future growth and expansion of production facilities
🌱 Fazit:
With the intelligently planned combination of combined heat and power and efficient steam generation, Gammel Engineering has created a future-proof energy solution for demanding food production.
