DFS Diamon GmbH produces high-precision dental tools and grinding technology "Made in Riedenburg". In order to counter the rising energy costs and at the same time set an example for resource conservation and security of supply, Gammel Engineering developed an integrated concept for cogeneration of heat, power and cooling (CHP).
The focus was on replacing outdated oil and gas heating systems and decentralized cooling generators with a modern, coupled energy system - tailored to the requirements of a precision manufacturing company.
🔧 Technical key points of the CHP concept:
- Combined heat and power plant (CHP): Coupled electricity and heat generation directly on site - economical and low-emission
- Absorption chiller (AKM): Use of CHP waste heat to provide cooling for production processes
- Bath heater conversion in electroplating: Electric heating rods replaced by hot water solutions - load peaks are reduced
- Coolant optimization: Central oil cooling system instead of individual coolers - efficient, safe and low-maintenance
- Goal: Reduction in electricity consumption, strengthening of self-sufficiency and avoidance of individual fossil fuel furnaces
