In 2007, the first considerations were made as to how the municipal company could add energy generation to its existing business area of energy distribution. It was clear that base load-capable energy generation was needed in order to supply health resorts, sanatoriums and hotels with heat all year round. Power generation should also run as evenly as possible throughout the year. It was concluded that the best option was a biomass-based combined heat and power plant that utilized as much of the heat as possible. Gammel Engineering was entrusted with the development of the business model, the system and approval planning, the tendering and award procedure as well as the implementation planning of the combined heat and power plant and the heating network, the project management and construction management as well as the quality assurance and monitoring of the implementation. He started with us around 25 years ago as a young engineer and grew from project manager to project manager to authorized signatory. With a great deal of passion and dedication, he has become a permanent fixture in our management team. But above all, Tom is a real team player who always has an open ear, is always willing to help and makes everyday life easier with his good humor.
