This is bad - for citizens as well as for the environment and the renewable energy sector. Because decisions are left undecided. When a leading ministerial official from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy admits that "there is no plan B for the Grid Expansion Acceleration Act (NABEG)", this clearly shows the dilemma of the non-government. But not only grids: Combined heat and power generation or in-house electricity supply and much more would also have to be re-regulated as quickly as possible.
This is not only being discussed at Gammel Engineering. Lots of requests were also heard, for example, at the Biogas Convention at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center this week, at the industry's annual meeting.
"It's still utopian. But perhaps CO2 certificates will create future prospects for farmers." Simon Juan Tappen from the Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture LfL focused on the post-EEG period, i.e. the time after the Renewable Energy Sources Act.
Just before Christmas, Tappen announced his desire for honest CO2 pricing. He even included the term "post-EEG" in the title of his presentation. The operators of combined heat and power plants, especially farmers with biogas CHP, should "think in a completely different way", namely about "decentralized supply. And not bury their heads in the sand".
However, Tappen's ideas were not the only ones that the Zukunftsenergie team was able to pick up on at the biogas conference and exhibition. We visited the stands of a number of combined heat and power plant and engine suppliers and asked them the same question: "What does your company want for the new year?" The answers - we asked for just one sentence if possible - came from 2G Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung, AVS BHKW, Bayern BHKW, Bioenergie Geisenberger, Caterpillar MWM, Elektro Hagl, Enertec Kraftwerke, GE Jenbacher, MAN Gasmotoren, Schnell-Motoren and Wolf Power Systems. So there was something for everyone, from very small to very large. However, to ensure that none of the stand personnel interviewed felt exposed, we have not listed the answers in order from A to Z, but rather in a mixed order.
The companies basically had two completely different types of requests. Some turned their hopes towards politics. And the others were primarily concerned about their customers and their own businesses.
But what exactly are the CHP machine suppliers hoping for in the New Year? "Good business with our CHP units." "Sufficient qualified employees who can implement our orders well." "Many satisfied customers: They make us successful." This wish was heard almost word for word at several stands. "That our new product is accepted, because then two years of work will have been worth it." "We want customer satisfaction and a good income for both sides." "Even more sales." "That things continue to go as well as they are at the moment." And at one stand, we only received a single word in response to the question about wishes: "Orders!"And the political wish answers at the trade fair stands? "Clear legal regulations for Germany." "Legal certainty for flexibilization." One company's wish was: "A fair government. We are swimming without end." But almost directly next to it, we heard the opposite: "We want continued support from politicians. If it doesn`t get any less, all is well with the world."
However, this company seems to be fully satisfied with politics, but less so with its customers: "We don't really have any particular wishes. Except: more courage from farmers." The association's vice president had also previously provided a somewhat more detailed explanation for this: "Anyone who is confident that coal will disappear is already investing in flexibility." Unfortunately, however, "our strength, the flexibility of our power supply, has so far been made up of coal-fired power plants", as Biogas President Horst Seide drastically put it. However, this desire to move away from coal and towards an energy supply based on sun, wind, water and bioenergy unites the entire renewable energy scene anyway

Rising energy and raw material prices can be counteracted by using sustainable energy technologies and thus reducing CO2 emissions. This not only significantly reduces cost explosions, but also reduces your own ecological footprint. Pioneers in the dairy industry are also focusing on this.
Some people are simply indispensable in a company - Thomas "Tom" Winkler is one of them. He started with us around 25 years ago as a young engineer and grew from project manager to project manager to authorized signatory. With a great deal of passion and dedication, he has become a permanent fixture in our management team. But above all, Tom is a real team player who always has an open ear, is always willing to help and makes everyday life easier with his good humor.
