Audi Driving Experience Center: Gammel is there

Gammel Engineering and its planning partners are therefore responsible for the water/wastewater technology, heating, ventilation, cooling, fire extinguishing technology, electrical engineering, elevator and I&C systems at the new Audi site. The project manager is Dietmar Montag: "My responsibility lies in the overall project management of the technical building services, including coordination with our planning partners, as well as in-house project management, technical building services coordination and planning," explains the Gammel engineer. "Furthermore, my special focus is on planning the energy center with heating and cooling supply as well as fire extinguishing technology." In future, customers and interested parties will be able to experience Audi models up close on an area of 47 hectares. On August 28, 2012, Michael Dick, Board Member for Technical Development at AUDI AG, Dr. Frank Dreves, Audi Board Member for Production, as well as Christoph Hillenbrand, District President of Upper Bavaria, Roland Weigert, District Administrator of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen, and Neuburg's Lord Mayor Dr. Bernhard Gmehling took the shovels into their own hands for the ground-breaking ceremony at the construction site. In addition to a 30,000 square meter dynamic area where the limits of driving physics can be tested under realistic conditions, the 47-hectare site in Neuburg an der Donau offers a handling course up to 3.4 kilometers long. A challenging off-road section with a gravel track, tree trunks and sloping roads also promises an exciting off-road drive. In addition to the Audi driving experience, Audi Sport will also be based here with the Competence Center Motorsport - bundling all motorsport activities under one roof, developing and manufacturing new racing sports cars and planning the worldwide racing events. A total of around 300 employees will work at the new site in the region. Audi is investing a double-digit million sum in the project. The opening is planned for spring 2014. The planning was carried out by a team led by the Ingolstadt-based landscape architecture firm Weinzierl in cooperation with the architecture firm Herle & Herrle from Neuburg, the IngenAIX office from Aachen for the route planning, Gammel Engineering from Abensberg for the energy, building and plant technology and the Roplan office from Rosenheim for the infrastructure. In addition, the close cooperation with the Neuburg public utility company enables a CO2-neutral energy supply. Pictures (C) Audi Media Services
