EUWID interview with Gaelle Cadiou on the optimization of district heating networks: Every year, the district heating network in Germany is extended by hundreds of kilometers of new pipes. New generation plants often have to be integrated into existing networks. As a rule, new residential and industrial areas or housing estates are to be supplied with heating and process heat. The generation structure is becoming increasingly flexible in order to enable future energy strategies such as sector coupling. Highly efficient and extremely economical systems are required.

The trade magazine BWK reports on our network calculation and simulation with STANET: The expansion of the district heating network in Germany is making increasing progress: According to the main report of the Energy Efficiency Association for Heating, Cooling and CHP e.V. from 2016, the existing network was expanded by a total of 21,521 km nationwide in the same year. Many measures also involve the expansion of existing grids, in which new generation plants are being added and additional consumers are being acquired.

Our long-standing client demonstrated good style with a celebration in a heated tent with a blessing of the building shell and a sumptuous buffet. With 53 new apartments, Wohnbau St. Wolfgang eG is creating urgently needed living space in Regensburg.

The Gammel Engineering team developed the future energy project and is carrying out all planning services up to the performance tests. Energy efficiency and district heating networks are an essential part of the energy transition. Expansion is progressing rapidly in Germany. Strategic development requires professional simulation and calculation. Many measures also involve the expansion of existing networks. Until a few years ago, the hydraulic design of network expansions could still be carried out using simple linear calculations. Nowadays, the pipes are often meshed in a complicated way. A special analysis tool can be used to optimize the design of such networks. This carries out all the necessary calculations for optimum network design using the STANET software.

Exactly 20 years ago, Martin Zieglmeier had his first day at work in our company. It couldn't have been a better start to the week for our family business. As part of a small celebration, we looked back on the past 20 years and toasted to them. Martin took the opportunity to explain his very personal motivation for his commitment. The wide range of activities, the broad spectrum of project management - technology - customer support means that work never gets boring. The team spirit in the entire company team is probably unique - "one for all, all for one"! And without any rivalries or friction, which would only take the joy out of life. After two years of hard work, Offenstetten elementary school has grown. There are more classrooms and enough space for the all-day school. We are delighted to have been part of this project - Gammel Engineering GmbH was commissioned to plan the technical building services.
