Virtual power plant

A virtual power plant describes the combination of several individual decentralized (often smaller) power generation plants, which are usually operated with renewable energies. The advantage of centralized control is the balancing of power fluctuations in electricity generation. This improves grid stability and guarantees security of supply. In addition, the virtual interconnection of smaller plants enables access to the balancing energy market, which requires a minimum output.
