One year of heat from Reichenhall for Bad Reichenhall
This concept was awarded the first tender for iKWK systems by the Federal Network Agency in Berchtesgadener Land in 2018 - as one of only five projects.
As a result, Stadtwerke Bad Reichenhall awarded the contract for the general technical planning to Gammel Engineering to build the new energy center and the district heating network.
During the concrete planning phase, a power plant was created consisting of
two natural gas CHP units, each with 3.4 megawatts of electrical (MWel) and 3.2 MW of thermal (MWth) output,
two ammonia groundwater heat pumps with 1.5 MWth and
two power-to-heat plants of 1.2 MWth each. This also includes
three heat storage units of 250 m³ each and one
peak load boiler with a heat output of 5 MW.
The heating network was developed in the first expansion stage with a route length of around 6 km, slightly less than expected in the feasibility study
The entire power plant was integrated into the existing Stadtwerke underground bus garage - which of course requires meticulous as-built surveys and 3D planning.
HLH reports: Digital precision meets sustainability - Atlas Copco's ECC as a lighthouse project
With the new Electronics Competence Center (ECC) in Neustadt an der Donau, Atlas Copco EPS is setting a strong example for the future of industry: energy-efficient, digitally planned and consistently sustainable. The project was awarded the BIM Prize Bavaria 2024 - and shows how modern planning and regional expertise work together perfectly.
Kelheim sets an example - sustainable district heating from a strong partnership
What began in 2009 with an initial study is now a supra-regional showcase project for ecological district heating: together with the Kelheim public utility company, Gammel Engineering's decentralized energy systems team has been able to support and play a key role in the strategic and technical development of the Kelheim district heating network over many years.
