Description
In the heart of the town of Vohburg a. d. Donau, Gammel Engineering has implemented an innovative local heating supply system - embedded in the historic Kultur-Stadl, a listed building. The conversion of the former ice cellar into a heating center shows how climate-friendly technology and planning in keeping with the listed building can go hand in hand.
🔧 Highlights of our solution:
- Integration of the heating center in the ice cellar of the Kultur-Stadl - technical innovation in the historic building
- Two-stage connection expansion:
- - 1st construction phase: Kultur-Stadl, municipal library and LRA branch office
- - 2nd construction phase: Kultur-Stadl, municipal library and LRA branch office
- . Construction phase: Connection of the Pflegerschloss after renovation
- Heat generation via two cogeneration units (CHP units) for base load coverage and a gas condensing boiler for peak load
- Local heating network with prepared outlets for future expansions
- Scalable infrastructure with space reserves in the energy center
💡 Why Vohburg is a showcase project:
The project is an example of sustainable urban development, in which modern energy concepts are invisibly and efficiently integrated into the established structure.
Gammel Engineering combines technical expertise with the aim of creating security of supply, efficiency and expandability - in line with the municipal energy transition.
