Description
The newly founded Nahwärmegenossenschaft Seyboldsdorf eG is planning to switch from heating oil to a regional, renewable heating network. The basis was a bachelor's thesis that analyzed the interest of local residents and the technical framework conditions
Gammel Engineering took the results of the study and turned them into a comprehensive feasibility study - including a comparison of variants, fuel analysis and a detailed business plan
🔧 Feasibility study at a glance:
- Examination of various generation concepts - e.g. B. Wood, wood chips, biogas, pellet heating
- Evaluation of fuel availability and supply chains in the region
- Detailing of capital and operating costs including energy tariffs and funding opportunities
- Scenario description for medium-term expansion stages - from connection of existing buildings to new construction
🔍 Results & Outlook:
- Heat price below 8 cents/kWh forecast, connection costs per household reliably calculated - esp. according to the cooperative's information flyer
- High willingness to connect: Survey showed interest from at least 100 households (construction area and existing buildings)
- Structured growth model: Construction phases defined in three stages; first stage eligible for funding and technically feasible
- Founded proof of economic viability: Investment security established, funding requirements checked
💡 Why Seyboldsdorf is a bum lighthouse project:
- We combine citizen-led initiatives with sound energy technology studies
- The integral approach - technology, financing, fuels - ensures local acceptance
- Gammel Engineering delivers studies that enable applications, secure implementation and make the energy transition concrete
