For the rural municipality of Saterland (around 13,600 inhabitants in the Oldenburg MĂĽnsterland region), Gammel Engineering developed a holistic energy concept for the strategic use of renewable energies and to increase efficiency in the municipal building stock
🔧 Tasks & services:
- Analysis of current energy use in municipal properties
- Evaluation of technologies such as CHP, heat pump, PV, biomass, Solar thermal energy
- Development of an action concept as an energy master plan - eligible for funding under KfW and federal programs
- Scenarios for the integration of decentralized energy supply and efficiency measures
đź’ˇ Why the Saterland concept is special:
- Integral component of the municipal climate protection strategy - together with citizen participation as in the "Vision En2040" project for the energy transition
- Basis for implementing concrete measures: e.g. indoor swimming pool regulation via KI. E.g. indoor swimming pool control via AI, LED conversion and insulation measures already introduced
- The concept strengthens the role of the municipality as an innovative player in energy and climate policy
