Description
ZBE GmbH, a subsidiary of the long-established Erdenwerk Ziegler, has strategically expanded its business area and built a modern plant for pellet and briquette production - with a total investment volume of around EUR 15 million. The highly automated processing chain required an energy and heat structure that was as efficient as it was sustainable.
Gammel Engineering provided the technical concept for complete heat supply via a new biomass cogeneration plant, including connection to the existing ORC system.
🔧 Highlights of the plant:
- 12 MW belt dryer for drying the sawdust to a standardized moisture content
- Automated conveyor logistics from the wet chip bunker to the presses
- ORC technology for simultaneous heat and power generation
- and power generation
- Fresh forest chips and bark as a sustainable fuel
- Power feed into the public grid in accordance with the Renewable Energy Sources Act
- Integration and modernization of the existing ORC power plant
💡 Why this project is convincing:
We accompany industrial expansion projects with energy precision - from drying technology to electricity marketing.
The integration of renewable energies and efficient waste heat utilization strengthens profitability and the environmental footprint in equal measure.
The project proves it: Sustainable energy supply can also become a success factor in highly industrial processes.
