Kirchdorf Biomasse-HKW Grünfuttertrocknung

Description

In 2006, we built a biomass cogeneration plant with ORC technology for the green fodder drying cooperative in Kirchdorf am Inn. The plant uses wood chips to generate 8,500 kW of thermal and 1,500 kW of electrical power - a pioneering project for regional energy use.

  • The thermal surplus is used to dry green fodder and other agricultural products.
  • Electricity is produced via an organic Rankine cycle (ORC), which generates renewable electricity from excess process heat.
  • The plant generates around 6.7 MW of heat and 1.5 MW of electricity, making it a striking example of energy-efficient industrial process integration.

🔧 Our engineering services at a glance:

  • System planning from the biomass feed to the ORC turbine
  • Hydraulic integration into existing dryer systems and energy infrastructure
  • MSR technology, safety and control concepts, including grid connection
  • Holistic approach for sustainable agriculture and energy management

🌟 Why the project is impressive:

  • Industrial circular economy: green fodder production generates renewable heat and electricity from waste stream.
  • Innovative ORC technology (2006): Genuine pioneering achievement in the process energy sector.
  • Climate-friendly operation: Reduction of fossil radiation through modern biomass utilization.

Conclusion: With the plant in Kirchdorf, we have combined technical innovation with regional value creation. Gammel Engineering delivers solutions that combine agriculture, energy efficiency and climate protection in one system - smart, sustainable, future-oriented.
