Beilngries Machbarkeitsstudie für Jura-Guss GmbH

Description

Gas-heated shaft melting furnaces with a total melting capacity of 5 t/h are used in the melting shop at Jura Guss. All areas of the plant are supplied with heating and process heat via a hot water network. Waste heat is extracted from the melting shop and the compressed air station and fed into the heating network. Gas boilers cover the rest. Various options for waste heat utilization and combined heat, power and cooling were investigated: Conversion of the waste heat from the melting furnaces into electricity, micro gas turbine in combination with the existing Massel preheating chamber, compressed air cogeneration, natural gas CHP in combination with absorber. A 100 kWel natural gas CHP plant using its own electricity is the most economical solution. The gas engine could cover 40% of the heat requirement (generated by the gas boilers). It is possible to feed the heat into the planned local heating network of the town of Beilngries.

Gammel Engineering is then preparing the funding application for the new shaft melting furnace, which is equipped with energy-saving combustion air preheating.
