Description
The Bad Tölz public utility company supplies around 20,000 customers in Bad Tölz and the surrounding area with electricity, water, gas and district heating. An existing heating plant supplies a district heating network that was taken over from the US Army. in 1993, the existing coal-fired boiler was replaced by gas-oil firing systems. The district heating network mainly supplies properties belonging to the district administration office, the tax office, the indoor swimming pool in the Flint area and residential buildings from former US housing estates. New heat consumers, such as the company SITEC, are integrated. The electricity generated in the biomass cogeneration plant in combined heat and power generation is fed into the public grid and remunerated in accordance with the new Energy Feed-in Act. The heat generated replaces around 85% of the heat previously generated using fossil fuels.
