Description
Stadtwerk Tauberfranken GmbH has set up a district heating network to supply public, commercial and private properties in Bad Mergentheim with environmentally friendly heat. The heat is generated on the basis of the renewable raw material wood. Naturwärme Bad Mergentheim GmbH has built a new combined heat and power plant for this purpose. A biomass boiler with thermal oil heater and downstream ORC system is used. The electricity generated in a coupled process is fed into the public grid in accordance with the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). The condensation heat generated from the ORC process is used as a base load for the heat supply all year round
