Systematic heat transition - directly from the region!
In Kelheim, the district heating network is being continuously expanded to supply the city with sustainably generated heat. in 2009, a concept for networking the heat islands was developed based on the experience of combined heat and power plants and biomass cogeneration plants. the first heat island was introduced in 1994. The construction of a CHP plant in 2011 was an important step towards efficiently connecting local heat sources. The expansion of the network is being driven forward step by step, with the expansion into the city centre and the district high school in 2021. Economic factors and long-term investments play a central role in the successful implementation of the project.
