So has their massive resistance, which has been widely reported in the media in recent years, really borne fruit?

Or is the end just a political distraction?
P44: The extra-high-voltage line was to run from Altenfeld in Thuringia via Würgau in Upper Franconia to Ludersheim in the south of Nuremberg. And now, rather unexpectedly, Bavaria's black-orange state government announced on Tuesday: "The construction of the P44 alternating current line or its variants P44mod are definitely off the table."

The Franconian-Bavarian route opponents are nevertheless skeptical: "The campaign alliance against the south-east route will continue to keep an eye on the plans of the transmission system operators." However, they see it as "positive that the political resistance in some municipalities is proceeding in very good cooperation with the citizens. It was only in April that the alliance against the P44mod from Nürnberger Land to Coburg was reorganized, which certainly contributed to the decision to cancel the P44mod."
One day later, however, Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier (CDU) emerges from obscurity and invites people to a press conference 45 minutes beforehand, for which registration is mandatory. There he says that "on my initiative, the states of Bavaria and Thuringia will be relieved ... without the construction of further power lines in Hesse".

There should obviously not even be a shred of doubt that the federal government is holding the reins on the grid expansion brakes: Altmaier is the master of the grids, is supposed to be the sign. And then there is a sentence in the press release that completely puts all the jubilation about success into perspective: The energy ministers "therefore ask the Federal Network Agency to examine the proposal outlined below and to consult publicly before specifying it in the network development plan". In other words: nothing is fixed.
And what are the Bavarian governments doing? They are neither fully committed to renewable energies nor are they abolishing the 10H wind distance rule. Instead, Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) is planning the energy future as follows: "With gas power and combined heat and power generation, we are guaranteeing security of supply for Bavaria as an industrial location." That's right! The logical next step would be to gradually substitute natural gas with synthetic gas from wind or solar... the long-term storage facilities in the gas grid and caverns are already available at no additional cost to consumers.
The environment is obviously not (yet) on the ministers' minds...

Rising energy and raw material prices can be counteracted by using sustainable energy technologies and thus reducing CO2 emissions. This not only significantly reduces cost explosions, but also reduces your own ecological footprint. Pioneers in the dairy industry are also focusing on this.
