The new bridge also serves as a transport line for the district heating network of Stadtwerke Passau, which is mainly fed by a combined heat and power plant in Bahnhofstraße. In order to be able to withstand future expansions to the supply network, the new pipeline has been laid in DN 300 and equipped with roller bearings on the bridge structure to withstand expansion in the event of temperature fluctuations.
