Kick-off for business network for energy and climate protection in the district of Kelheim

"Energy and climate protection are increasingly important success factors for companies and municipalities. District Administrator Martin Neumeyer was therefore delighted to welcome companies and local authorities from his district to the kick-off event for the Regensburg Energy Agency's business network at the Kelheim District Office. In his welcoming address, he emphasized how important it is to exchange ideas on these promising topics and to exploit joint potential as fully as possible. In the Regensburg Energy Agency, the district of Kelheim has found an ideal partner to implement the energy transition together with citizens and companies. After almost a year of cooperation with the energy agency, projects have already been successfully initiated and implemented in many areas, such as the introduction of citizen energy advice and energy education projects in schools. The launch of the network for municipalities and companies from the district of Kelheim is now a further step towards close cooperation between the municipalities and the business community.

Ludwig Friedl, Managing Director of the Energy Agency, gratefully picked up on this thread and presented the Energy Agency and its fields of activity. He focused in particular on projects that have their origins in the Energy Agency's existing network. Since its foundation in 2009, the Energy Agency has been operating a successful network in the Regensburg region with over 100 companies. In the keynote speech that followed, Ludwig Friedl made it clear how important the topics of energy and climate protection are. These areas in particular offer immense potential for actively shaping the future. Both as a company and municipality, but also as a private individual, there are a multitude of opportunities to creatively and innovatively influence developments in the future.

Two companies based in the district of Kelheim that are already active in the energy agency network presented their practical experience and the benefits of the energy cluster. Mr. Thorsten Grantner and Mr. Pascal Spiegler from OmiCert GmbH in Bad Abbach and Mr. Dieter Lichtenberger from Gammel Engineering GmbH in Abensberg reported on their valuable experiences from the network and provided insights into successful projects that could be generated from the network work.

At the end of the event, the networking idea was immediately put into practice and the evening ended with a small snack and interesting discussions
