In the past, heating oil was primarily used in several heat generators to heat the LfL properties. A lot of heat from the biogas plant had to be cooled away unused. An exciting challenge for our team specializing in highly efficient energy systems!
Sustainability is key: today, most of the energy comes from the company's own land. LfL uses the heat from its biogas plant and has invested in a modern woodchip heating plant with electrostatic precipitators and a heat network. The new and existing systems are now optimally linked via the heating network and the two buffer storage tanks. The heating energy requirement is covered almost exclusively with renewable energies - heating oil is only used for a few peak loads.
