Strike time in Regensburg - Our 2026 sports trip
In 2026, it was once again time to knock over pins, collect points and have lots of fun!
After around one and a half years of construction, the short-term care facility "Hummelchen" of Katholische Jugendfürsorge (KJF) Regensburg has opened its doors. Here, children and young people with severe disabilities find a loving temporary home - and their families find valuable relief.
Gammel Engineering was involved in this special project as a planning partner for heating, ventilation and sanitation and is delighted to have contributed to this place of well-being with its technical expertise.
During the ceremonial blessing by Bishop Dr. Rudolf Voderholzer, it became clear how much passion and commitment is behind this project. Numerous sponsors, donors and partners made the construction possible - first and foremost the Benefizaktion Sternstunden, which supported the project with one million euros. Further contributions came from the Bavarian Ministry of Health, the Hofmann Foundation, the "For Young People" Foundation and the Regensburg Christmas Carol.
KJF director Michael Eibl spoke of a real star hour:
"Our vision of providing relief to families with severely disabled children in Eastern Bavaria has become a reality. Without the many helping hands, this would not have been possible."
The first children moved in during the summer vacations - and feel completely at home. "The Hummelchen is like a second home," say parents gratefully.
Located in the middle of the countryside, the Hummelchen is a place of care, joy and renewed strength - a ray of hope for families who achieve great things every day.
We at Gammel Engineering are delighted with the successful progress of the project and especially for the families who can now use this wonderful facility. 💛

The official blessing of the new children's center in Regensburg took place on 13.03.2026. A significant step in the further development of medical care for children in the region. The St. Martin Children's Center now offers state-of-the-art new facilities for the treatment and care of young patients with physical and mental disabilities.
A healthy diet is a crucial building block for well-being, performance and long-term health. For this reason, nutritional advice was offered at GE as part of occupational health management (OHM), initiated by Evi Wittmann, who is responsible for OHM at the company.
