Energy Glossary

Secondary energy

Secondary energy is the energy that is present in secondary energy carriers after a conversion process from a primary energy carrier. Secondary energy is always less than primary energy, as every conversion process causes energy losses. An example of a secondary energy source is petrol, which is obtained from crude oil (primary energy source).
