The term self-consumption is used when a decentralized electricity generator does not feed the electricity it generates into the electricity grid, but consumes it itself in its own property. Thanks to innovative system location technology, the price for the kilowatt hour of electricity produced by self-consumption systems has fallen steadily, making self-consumption more profitable. With new systems, the kWh costs approx. 8-14 ct, whereas with German energy suppliers you pay a price of 26 ct per kWh or more. By designing a system correctly, you can achieve a high proportion of self-consumption and increase profitability.
