The implementation of an energy management system serves to systematically and continuously monitor and optimize the use of energy in a company. The basis for a functioning energy management system is the recording of the operational energy flow. Energy mainly occurs in the form of electrical energy, heat and cooling. To this end, both the primary energy requirement and the subsequent use of energy by consumers must be documented and analyzed. Based on this, targets and measures for saving energy can be identified. By implementing a continuous PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle, processes and systems are improved and energy efficiency in the company is continuously increased. The energy management system is standardized and certified by the international standard ISO 50001.
